So Many Beautiful Questions

A Special Evening on TalkShopLive

Last night we did TalkShopLive to share about my book, Are You Here? to the heart behind it.

Travis was by my side as my forever hype man and we had a special appearance from our kitty.

This is EXACTLY the type of tender, deeply meaningful conversations about grief, love, and joy that I hope this book sparks. But what moved me most?

Your questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

There was a lot of overlap with questions and we tried to answer all of them… but you asked things like:

  • What inspired you to write this book?

  • What does the title Are You Here? mean?

  • How long did it take to write?

  • Was any part especially difficult or emotional?

  • Is there a “right age” to talk with children about Heaven and the afterlife?

  • How can this help my child after the passing of their grandparent?

  • How do you decide how much of your personal story to share?

  • Will there be another book?

  • Can you see this becoming a movie someday?

And many of you shared your own Stories.

About signs in nature like bluebirds.
About reading this book on the anniversary of your mom’s passing.
About wanting to write your own story but wondering if it’s “too personal.”

Willingness to be vulnerable is the only reason books like this exist.

Why I Wrote Are You Here?

This book was born in a season of grief after the passing of my mother.

In the quiet.
In the early morning hours.
In that space where sorrow and Faith meet.

It became a message.
Then a movement.
Then a book.

And now it belongs to you.

Parenting Through Grief

One of the most common questions was:

How do you talk to children about these difficult subjects?

There isn’t one perfect answer.

We can only show up as our authentic selves and be present.

Intentional Parenting.
Gentle conversations.
Room for questions.
Shoulders to cry on.
Space for wonder.

We talked about how grief can coexist with joy.

Remember that love doesn’t leave, it simply transforms and expands.

I hope this discussion brings you comfort and courage in your own lives.

For the Aspiring Authors

Several of you asked about writing your own books and your own personal journeys like cancer, loss, or Faith.

I spoke honestly about:

  • How this book came together

  • My writing process

  • Working with an illustrator

  • And how to discern what feels aligned to share

If you feel a story stirring inside you, I hope you share it with the world too.

Watch the Full Conversation

Rather than try to summarize every answer here, I’d love for you to experience the conversation yourself.

It’s heartfelt, unscripted, and honest.

Thank you for your questions.
Thank you for your courage.
Thank you for this connection.

This book was written in grief, but it lives in COMMUNITY.

With Love,
Jenny Robinson Clark
